Itinerary

Day 1 Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Accommodation: Lodge

You take an exhilarating 35-minute scenic flight from Kathmandu (1324m) to Lukla (2,860m) on Day 1 of the Everest Base Camp climb, which offers stunning Himalayan views. The walk starts in Lukla and descends gradually via Sherpa settlements, dense woods, and suspension bridges across the Dudh Koshi River, arriving in Phakding (2,610m) in roughly three to four hours. The trail offers breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, rhododendron plants, and waterfalls. During your overnight stay in a quaint teahouse in Phakding, you may savour filling dishes like Tibetan bread, noodles, and dal bhat, which is lentil soup served with rice. This day is used to acclimatise to the altitude and provide a gentle warm-up for the difficult days ahead.

Day 2Phakding to Namche Bazar

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Accommodation: Lodge

You gain a lot of elevation on Day 2 of the Everest Base Camp walk as you travel from Phakding (2,610m) to Namche Bazaar (3,440m). The famous Hillary Bridge is one of the picturesque suspension bridges with prayer flags that the trail crosses as it follows the Dudh Koshi River. The natural beauty is enhanced by lush forests, rivers, and views of snow-capped peaks like Thamserku (6,623m). Cosy tea houses with breathtaking views of the mountains are available for an overnight stay in Namche Bazaar, the busy Sherpa centre. The meals consist of Tibetan bread, hearty Nepali staples like dal bhat (lentil soup with rice), and hot beverages to ward off the cold nights. This day immerses trekkers in the stunning vistas of the Khumbu region while preparing them for greater altitudes.

Day 3Namche (Acclimatization)

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Accommodation: Lodge

Trekkers remain at 3,440 metres (11,286 feet) at Namche (acclimatisation) to get used to the altitude. The lively Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar provides breathtaking views of the Thamserku and Kongde Ri peaks, as well as verdant valleys and rhododendron woods. For stunning views of Mt Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam, this day includes a quick climb to the Everest View Hotel (3,880m). Warm meals like dal bhat (lentil soup with rice), noodles, or Sherpa stew are served to refuel during the night at a comfortable tea house or lodge. Before continuing on the ascent towards Everest Base Camp, proper acclimatization here helps avoid altitude sickness.

Day 4Namche to Tengboche

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Accommodation: Lodge

On the fourth day of the Everest Base Camp trek, you will ascend 420 metres from Namche Bazaar (3,440m) to Tengboche (3,860m). Through verdant rhododendron forests and traditional Sherpa communities, the trail provides stunning views of Mt Everest, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. Tengboche is renowned for its ancient monastery, which is the biggest in Khumbu and is surrounded by breathtaking Himalayan scenery. You spend the night in a tea house or lodge, which offers simple yet comfortable lodging. In order to provide trekkers with filling, high-energy meals, dal bhat (lentil soup with rice), noodles, or Tibetan bread are frequently served. This journey stop is unforgettable because of the tranquil surroundings and expansive mountain views.

Day 5Tengboche to Dingboche

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Accommodation: Lodge

The climb from Tengboche (3,860m) to Dingboche (4,410m) on Day 5 of the Everest Base Camp gives breathtaking vistas of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Everest. With stunning Himalayan scenery all along the way, the trail ascends beyond Pangboche, crosses the Imja River, and descends through rhododendron forests. Spend the night in Dingboche, a charming town encircled by high peaks and pastures with stone walls. In order to battle the cold altitude, meals usually consist of robust Nepali staples like momos, pasta, or dal bhat (lentil soup with rice), coupled with warm beverages. Since acclimatisation is necessary due to the height gain, Dingboche is an essential stop before more difficult climbs. The tranquil beauty of this high-altitude sanctuary is enhanced by the beautiful mountain skies at night.

Day 6Acclimatization in Dingboche (Hike to Nangkartshang Peak)

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Accommodation: Lodge

On Day 6 of the Everest Base Camp expedition, you will hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m), which offers breathtaking views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Makalu, in Dingboche (4,410m), to acclimatise. The challenging ascent improves altitude adaptation while displaying the untamed landscapes and rough paths of the Himalayan region. After returning to Dingboche, you will spend the night in a teahouse, refuelling with hot soups, noodles, or dal bhat. This visit is unforgettable because of the tranquil beauty of the Imja Valley and the majestic peaks illuminated by the stars. In order to get ready for the next higher altitudes, proper rest and hydration are stressed.

Day 7Dingboche to Lobuche

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Accommodation: Lodge

You travel from Dingboche (4,410m) to Lobuche (4,940m) on Day 7 of the Everest Base Camp trip, gaining a considerable amount of altitude as you get closer to the Khumbu Glacier. With its rough terrain and alpine surroundings, the trail provides breathtaking views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and the majestic Himalayan peaks. Before the last push to EBC, trekkers spend the night in Lobuche, a tiny community with simple teahouses. To refuel in the thin, cold air, meals usually consist of soups, noodles, or dal bhat (lentil soup with rice). With stunning views of high-altitude terrain and glacial moraines, the day’s walk is demanding but worthwhile. At this point, proper acclimatisation is essential to preventing altitude sickness.

Day 8Lobuche → Gorak Shep → EBC → Gorak Shep

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Accommodation: Lodge

You hike from Lobuche (4,940m) to Gorak Shep (5,164m) on Day 8 of the Everest Base Camp journey. From there, you continue on to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) before spending the night back at Gorak Shep. The Khumbu Glacier, icefalls, and majestic peaks like Pumori and Nuptse can all be seen from the trail. The untamed, high-altitude landscape is captivating yet difficult. You spend the night in Gorak Shep, a secluded community with simple teahouse lodging. Typical meals consist of soups, noodles or dal bhat, which supply vital energy for the high-altitude hike. This day, which takes you to the famous EBC among stunning Himalayan scenery, is a key highlight.

Day 9Gorak Shep → Kalapathar → Dzongla

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Accommodation: Lodge

You will travel from Gorak Shep (5,164m) to Kala Patthar (5,644m) for a stunning sunrise view of Everest on Day 9 of the Everest Base Camp trek. From there, you will descend to Dzongla (4,830m). While the road to Dzongla traverses rough terrain with breathtaking Himalayan views, the walk to Kala Patthar gives breathtaking panoramic views of Mt Everest, Nuptse, and Pumori. In Dzongla, teahouses offer basic accommodation and hot food such as porridge, noodles, or dal bhat for an overnight stay. The tranquil, high-altitude setting with snow-capped peaks all around creates an unforgettable experience. Because of the large elevation fluctuations, proper hydration and acclimatisation are crucial.

Day 10Dzongla to Thangnak via Cho La Pass

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Accommodation: Lodge

Cho La Pass, which connects Dzongla and Thangnak, is one of the most difficult but rewarding parts of the Everest Base Camp hike. Cho La Pass (5,420 m/17,782 ft), a treacherous and icy high-altitude passage that requires careful navigation, must be crossed throughout the trip. The trek provides amazing views of turquoise lakes, glacial moraines, and snow-capped summits, including Nepal’s largest glacier, the magnificent Ngozumpa Glacier. With teahouses offering basic lodging and warm dishes like dal bhat, noodles, and garlic soup to promote acclimatisation, overnight stays in Thangnak (4,700 m/15,420 ft) are straightforward. A striking and unforgettable Himalayan experience is produced by the contrast between the verdant valleys below and the bleak, high-altitude scenery. An early start and the right equipment are crucial for this strenuous trekking day.

Day 11Thangnak to Gokyo

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner
Accommodation: Lodge

The hike from Thangnak (4,700m) to Gokyo (4,750m) on Day 11 of the Everest Base Camp trek offers stunning views as it crosses Nepal’s largest glacier, the Ngozumpa Glacier. Trekkers who complete the trail are rewarded with breathtaking views of the tall peaks of Gyachung Kang (7,952m) and Cho Oyu (8,188m), as well as the turquoise Gokyo Lakes. Gokyo offers comfortable teahouse lodgings with captivating lakeside views for an overnight visit. To provide energy for the high-altitude hike, meals usually consist of soups, noodles or dal bhat (lentil soup with rice). Gokyo is a highlight of the walk because of its calm beauty, serene lakes, and untamed Himalayan backdrop. It is important to acclimatise here before climbing Gokyo Ri (5,357m) the next day.

On Day 12 of the Everest Base Camp trek, there are stunning vistas and a variety of sceneries along the way from Gokyo (4,750m) to Gokyo Ri (5,357m) and down to Dole (4,110m). Trekkers who ascend to Gokyo Ri early in the morning are rewarded with expansive views of Makalu, Lhotse, Everest, and the azure Gokyo Lakes. With breathtaking views of Cho Oyu, the trail descends to Dole via traditional Sherpa settlements and verdant rhododendron forests. In order to provide energy for the trip, meals in Dole include filling Nepali staples like dal bhat, noodles, and warm ginger tea, along with comfortable teahouse lodgings for the night. This day combines tranquil Himalayan splendour with high-altitude adventure.

Day 13Dole to Namche Bazaar

Meals: Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner

Trekkers can recuperate and explore local shops by spending the night in Namche Bazaar, the busy Sherpa hub. In order to provide energy for the trip, meals usually consist of robust soups, noodles, or dal bhat (lentil soup with rice).
