One of the most breathtaking and varied treks in the world, the Annapurna Circuit Trek offers an unmatched combination of adventure, cultural diversity, and Himalayan scenery. Over the course of 12–21 days, this fabled voyage covers roughly 160–230 kilometres (100–145 miles) across six different districts of Nepal: Lamjung, Manang, Mustang, Myagdi, Baglung, and Kaski. Each of these districts adds special physical and cultural attractions to this epic journey.

Starting in the subtropical plains of Besisahar (Lamjung, 800m), the trip climbs through terraced farmlands and verdant forests to reach the highlands of Manang (3,540m), where a culture with Tibetan influences flourishes. Before descending into the parched Mustang and the holy place of Muktinath (3,800m), the final obstacle is found at Thorong La Pass (5,416m), one of the highest hiking routes in the world. After passing through the breathtaking Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest in the world, in Myagdi, and the rocky foothills of Baglung, the trail either ends in Nayapul (Kaski) or loops back via Jomsom.

Trekkers can discover historic monasteries, enjoy the hospitality of Gurung, Thakali, and Tibetan cultures, and take in breath-taking vistas of Annapurna I (8,091m), Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m), and other Himalayan giants while travelling through these regions. The Annapurna Circuit is regarded as one of the world’s best treks because it offers an incredible experience through Nepal’s natural and cultural beauties, regardless of your level of trekking expertise and your desire for a high-altitude challenge.

The trail climbs 80m from Besisahar to Bhulbhule (840m), a little village with teahouses. This part, which takes two to three hours, is quite straightforward and provides breathtaking vistas of verdant landscapes and terraced fields. Over the day, trekkers are progressively acclimated to the terrain while being exposed to Nepal’s rustic charm. To be ready for the hike to Jagat (1,300m) the next day, spend the night at Bhulbhule.
